Street improvements

Street improvements on Clarence Street at the intersections of Margaret, Erskine, Barrack and King Streets. The work will make the road safer for vehicle drivers, pedestrians and bike riders.

What work is being done?

• Installation of Smartpoles

• Upgrade of traffic signals and intersection lighting

• Improved access ramps

• Kerb and gutter maintenance

• Installation of granite paving

• Removal of redundant poles

• Road maintenance

• New signage and line marking

The estimated construction period is April 2020 to August 2020.

Work will be carried out during the day between 7.30am to 5.30pm from Monday to Friday and 7.30am and 3.30pm on Saturdays and during the night between 8.00pm to 5.00am Monday to Friday.

We will take steps to minimise any impacts on local residents and business owners. However, there will be some machinery noise, temporary parking restrictions and alternative access for people walking.
