Improving Macleay Street, Potts Point

Upgrade of Macleay Street from Orwell Street to Challis Avenue

Sydney Civil community liaison officer Phillip Britten will start an initial consultation / introduction speaking to businesses, residents and pedestrians along the route to discuss future construction works and will develop a plan to mitigate the impacts of the project on the community from 21 November to 12 December 2019.

The proposed improvements include:

  • Granite paving from Orwell Street to Challis Avenue
  • Continuous footpath treatments at Orwell Street, Hughes Street, Crick Avenue, Manning Street and Rockwall Crescent
  • A raised intersection at Greenknowe Avenue and Macleay Street
  • New street furniture and lighting, with 20 bench seats and 6 seating wall
  • 20 bicycle racks and 7 racks on smartpoles
  • More than 44 new garden beds (a total area of 615m2) and 15 new trees.
