Pedestrian, Traffic and Cycling Improvements

Street improvements at the intersection of St Peters Lane and Bourke Street, Darlinghurst to increase pedestrian, bike and public transport access while improving safety.

What work is being done?

• Granite paved footpath continuation

• Install new stone kerb and gutter

• Installing new stormwater pipes

• Constructing new stormwater pits

• Adjustment of service utility pits

• Road restoration

• Signage installation

• Installation of new line marking

The estimated construction period is April 2020 to June 2020.

Work will be carried out during the day between 7:30am and 5:30pm, Monday to Friday, and 7:30am and 3:30pm on Saturdays and during the night from Monday to Thursday between 8pm to 5am.

Some night works will be required due to RMS (Road and Maritime Services) restrictions. Letter notifications will be distributed to the community prior to any scheduled night works.

We will take steps to minimise any impacts on local residents and business owners. However, there will be some machinery noise, temporary parking restrictions and alternative access for people walking.
