Overview
Upgrade works of Primrose Avenue between Epsom Road and Gardeners Road in Rosebery.
These works will create a safe connection for people to visit, travel through and live in the area. It will provide a quiet, traffic reduced connection from Epsom Road to Gardeners Road to encourage people riding bikes.
A quietway is a high-quality mixed traffic treatment, where bike riders travel on-road. They are designed to give people riding bikes equal access to the road as motor vehicles.
A quietway uses design features and visual cues that encourage drivers to reduce speed (for example, 30km/h or lower), discourage overtaking and reduce through traffic.
What work is planned?
- new inroad garden beds and trees
- new angled parking and changes to traffic priority
- new road closures on Spring Street at Epsom Road and on Primrose Avenue at Gardeners Road to reduce through traffic and improve safety for people walking along Epsom Road and Gardeners Road
- new pedestrian crossings at the corner of Crewe Place and Primrose Avenue and at Epsom Road.
No trees will be removed. Parking spaces will be reconfigured throughout the streets with no further loss of parking.
When we will be working and what to expect?
Construction work will be carried out generally during the day between 7:30am and 5:30pm Monday to Friday and 7:30am to 3:30pm on Saturdays.
If there is wet weather or other delays, our team will try to start the work the next day. If unsuitable weather continues, we will update this webpage and email information about any changes to our schedule.
We will aim to minimise night works as much as possible, however, if they are necessary, we will provide notification in advance to nearby residents and businesses.
Local businesses and residents will still be able to access properties during our construction work. We will contact any directly impacted properties in advance if we need to temporarily restrict access during construction.
The safety of the community, businesses, residents and staff is our top priority.
Thank you for your patience while we complete these important works.
How will the work affect you?
We will work to minimise impacts during our construction work. However, there may be machinery noise, temporary changes to traffic, parking or pedestrian access.
We will work with nearby residents and businesses and provide notification ahead of work in the area and do everything we can to minimise potential impacts.
We look forward to working with you to deliver this important project and thank you for your patience.
